ANDERSON, Calif. - The City of Anderson said the ice rink is scheduled to open on Dec. 10 after it was delayed in its shipping process.
The city said the ice rink was stuck in Long Beach due to the backlog of cargo ships off the coast of California.
The ice rink is now at the Port of Oakland as the city plans to open next month.
The rink will be synthetic ice that has a lubricant that rises when skated on. This will help keep the rink smooth.
The synthetic ice makes it feasible to have a rink in Anderson and the city plans to have it for the next 10 years.
It will cost $5 to skate.
The city said it will be open from Dec. 10 through Dec.12 and again from Dec. 17 through Dec. 19. It will also be open for two weeks when students are on break.
