ANDERSON, Calif. - Monday at around 5 p.m. an Anderson Police Department employee was walking out to her vehicle when she encountered Cody Dale Jenkins, 31, of Anderson, in the dumpster of the Anderson Police Department.

Officers spoke to Jenkins while he was in the dumpster and asked him what he was doing. Jenkins said he was "looking for cool stuff."

A record check revealed that Jenkins was on felony probation out of Shasta County for burglary and he had two active warrants for his arrest. Jenkins was then searched and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe. He was arrested on his warrants, as well as a felony probation violation and drug-related charges.

Jenkins was advised by police that they no longer keep the "cool stuff" in the dumpster and that if he wanted to turn himself in he could have just walked to the lobby door.

Aside from the haze and smoke, we've had beautiful weather in northern California today, and it will be just as nice tomorrow. A storm is coming our way, however, and we'll have very unsettled weather this weekend.
