ORLAND, Calif. - Amazon is coming to Glenn County where it plans to build a huge delivery center.
Amazon says the distribution center will be located at the Orland industrial park near the Orland Airport, which is just one mile outside Orland city limits.

It can bring in up to 150 jobs in total, and that's not accounting for all the local impact a big business like this will have on the community.
"Glenn has an airport industrial park in the outskirts of Orland, for quite some time that industrial park has gone mostly unused," said Scott De Moss, Orland City Administrator.
The industrial park is now home to two businesses after Amazon reached an agreement with Glenn County.
"Because of that," said De Moss over the phone, "Glenn County will have an Amazon distribution center located in that pretty much vacant warehouse."
Thousands of packages just like this one will be coming out of this 75,000 square foot warehouse and Glenn County says the reason they chose Orland is because of how close it is to the I-5 freeway.
"It looks like they're going to be bringing four to six million-dollar payroll just in the warehouse," said City Manager Peter R. Carr. "On top of that again just for the delivery drivers, so that's exciting."
Much of that money, Peter Carr hopes, will find it's way into the city.
"To the extent that they're hungry, to the extent that they'll use the services we have here in Orland," he said hopefully.
"My initial thoughts were people are joshing with me," said Karen Scarpete, who helps run South Street Deli in Orland, just off the I-5 freeway exit.
"As a business owner it's gonna bring more people, more money into our town," she said. "It can't be negative in my opinion."
Amazon shared a statement with Action News Now saying,
"Amazon is excited to make this investment in Glenn County that will support local economic development and help... deliver to its growing number of customers in the region."
Amazon says the jobs will vary between full-time and part-time. but they say all the jobs they offer will start at $15 an hour.
The distribution center is expected to be completed within the next year.
