LAKEHEAD, Calif. - A man who allegedly robbed a Lakehead grocery store and escaped on a bike Thursday evening was arrested on Friday.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Leonard Lewis Jr. stole several items from Jack’s Market.

The clerk on duty claims that Lewis walked out of the store without paying.

The clerk said he confronted the robber who pushed him to the ground.

Other people told officers that they tried to stop the suspect but he fought to get away.

The California Highway Patrol found Lewis riding a bike on Interstate 5 Friday.

He was positively identified using surveillance footage from Jack’s Market and was arrested for robbery.
