SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - The Shasta Union High School District announced a full return for all students, to all classes, for the full five-day school week.
All students and staff will be required to wear face coverings when on their campus and a variety of social distancing measures will also be set in place.
"To be clear, the Re-Opening Plan is not static and will likely evolve and change as guidance from health professionals and/or local conditions change," said superintendent Jim Cloney.
While this plan is primarily focused on face-to-face classroom instruction, Cloney said guidelines for the "vital parts of the high school experience" will be developed in the coming weeks.
"For families that are not comfortable with a full return to school in Phase 3, we are proud to offer a robust independent study program," said Cloney.
The SUHSD Collegiate Academy, formerly the North State Independence High School, will be offering an independent study curriculum, a program that requires minimal face-to-face interaction.
"I personally consider the combination of protecting the health and safety of all students and staff as we provide a high-quality education to all students my primary responsibility," said Cloney. "I will continue to hold student and staff safety in the highest regard in all decisions moving forward."
