PARADISE, Calif. - The Paradise Community Village just off Clark Road was destroyed by the Camp Fire in 2018 and by Nov. 2021, a new apartment complex is expected to stand in its place.
It's an affordable housing complex that will have 36 units with permits already filed and completed.
It is one of the only apartment housing complexes with a sewer line that survived the fire.
"We know there were many different types of housing in Paradise before the fire," said Colette Curtis, the assistant to the town manager. "As we rebuild, it is very important that we support the rebuilding of all of those types of housing."
The coronavirus is making life harder for all interested parties. Construction workers have updated health and safety protocols while remote communication from the town plays a key role in moving forward.
Anyone looking to continue rebuilding efforts is encouraged to visit the Building Resiliency Center in Paradise.
