Action News Now wins 2 AP awards for Camp Fire coverage

Action News Now won two awards for its coverage of the Camp Fire from the 2018 Associated Press Television and Radio Association.

CHICO, Calif. - Action News Now won two awards for its coverage of the Camp Fire from the 2018 Associated Press Television and Radio Association.

The association announced the awards for 2018 on May 16, 2019. 

Action News Now took home first place for Best Special Programing for its special "The Camp Fire: Out of the Ashes." The association noted the special's excellent storytelling as well as good use of sound and graphics.

Action News Now also took home first place for Best Spot News Coverage for its coverage of the Camp Fire. The station was in wall-to-wall coverage for more than 120 hours straight. Stories were collected in its "Fire Watch" section of the website.
