Aaron Rodgers fund donates to small-businesses

The Aaron Rodgers Small-Business COVID-19 Fund at North Valley Community Foundation will be helping 79 small-business pay rent.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Seventy-nine businesses in Butte County will be receiving help from the Aaron Rodgers Small-Business COVID-19 Fund at North Valley Community Foundation.

The fund will pay $578,000 towards rent, which is at least two months of rent for the small businesses in the county.

After Rodgers guest-hosted Jeopardy!, $236,725 was donated to the fund which was added to the money left from the first round of grants.

Rodgers made a large contribution to increase the funding in the second round of grants.

In total, Rodgers grants are nearly $1.6 million and have helped 159 small businesses.

Locally owned and operated businesses with 2 or fewer full-time employees were eligible to apply for the grant, including restaurants, retail stores, bars and more.

The minimum a business received was $2,500 and the average was more than $7,300.
