A woman in Weaverville was arrested after striking a victim with a sword

A woman was arrested after striking a victim multiples times with a large sword near Weaver Street on Aug. 5.

WEAVERVILLE, Calif. - A woman was arrested after striking a victim multiples times with a large sword near Weaver Street on Aug. 5.

Trinity County Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding the altercation. 

Once police arrived on the scene they arrested the suspect, Rae Haines.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital. She was treated for several lacerations and was then released.

Haines admitted to having struck the victim multiple times with a sword and to having manufactured several incendiary devices which had been taken weeks prior. This has remained part of an ongoing investigation.

Haines has been transported to the Trinity County Jail.
