A woman in Redding was arrested for possession of an assault weapon

A woman was arrested for possession of an AR-Style rifle in the 1200 block of Bobs Mountain Rd, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.

REDDING, Calif. - A woman was arrested for possession of an AR-Style rifle in the 1200 block of Bobs Mountain Rd, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:23 a.m. Friday, several people reported they heard a woman yelling at a resident of a home and shots fired soon after.

Deputies arrived and found Caitlan Squires (24), Jessie Wyrick-Carrales (27) and Ean Lovitch (31) all unharmed. No further evidence of a shooting was found.

Squires was the owner of the illegal rifle. She was arrested for manufacturing or importing a short-barreled rifle and illegal possession of an assault weapon.

Wyrick-Carrales and Ean Lovitch were released after the investigation.
