RED BLUFF, Calif.- Tehama County leaders are considering a third option as a homeless shelter in Red Bluff.
About a month ago, county leaders had proposed two other sites to set up a homeless shelter.
One of the sites being considered is the vacant Tehama County Courthouse Annex in downtown Red Bluff. The other site proposed for a homeless shelter is near the Red Bluff Airport.
Both of the proposed sites have been met with opposition from business owners in the area.
The third site being proposed is the vacant lot behind Raley's, located near a busy shopping center.
Local business owners tell Action News Now that they are opposed to a possible homeless shelter being built near the busy shopping center. Local business owners say they usually see a lot of homeless people roaming around the shopping center, so having a possible shelter behind a busy area could be a nuisance.
However, Action News Now also spoke to people who say they are in favor.
No decision has been made on when the county will choose the location of this homeless shelter.
