DEL LOMA, Calif. - A body was discovered in the Trinity River near Del Loma on Friday, and the Trinity County Sheriff's Office is reporting back on their investigation.
The deceased man has been identified as 35-year-old Alec Hurst of Weaverville and Fort Bragg.
Sheriff's officials said Hurst's vehicle was located in the area. They said they found a variety of fishing and personal items of Hurst's on the bank of the Trinity River, in the same general location.
According to the Trinity County Sheriff's Office, the incident is still under review, but they said there was not anything suspicious about the case.
The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, Trinity County Search and Rescue, the United States Forest Service, the Downriver Volunteer Fire Company, the Hawkins Bar Volunteer Fire Department, and the California Highway Patrol were all involved in the discovery of Hurst's body and the investigation that followed.
