After a hot, hot weekend across the North State, temperatures are starting to drop closer to normal for this time of year - which in parts of the valley still means close to triple-digits.

Today we have a bit of that southerly Delta Breeze which will stick around for a lot of the work-week.

A trough of low pressure over the west coast will bring on the cooling trend, bringing us down to a few degrees below normal med-week.

The wind may cool us down a bit, but keep in mind that amps up our fire-danger level.

We have a high-pressure ridge over the four corners to our Southeast and a trough over the Pacific Northwest.

As the high pressure builds westward, we'll start back on a slight warming trend Saturday and Sunday.

Showers are not looking likely this week.
