NORTHERN CALIFORNIA - There have been nine COVID-19 deaths reported in local counties on Wednesday.
Shasta County Health and Human Services reported five new deaths.
SCHHS said a man in his 50s, two men in their 70s, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 80s died.
There were 102 new cases reported on Wednesday, 62 people are in the hospital and 18 people are in ICU in Shasta County.
82 of 93 COVID-19 deaths in Shasta County between July 12 and Oct. 12 were people who were not fully vaccinated. One of the 93 deaths was a person who was partially vaccinated and 10 were people who were fully vaccinated.
50.2% of Shasta County’s eligible population for the COVID-19 vaccine is fully vaccinated and 58.8% is partially vaccinated.

There were two deaths reported in Butte County on Wednesday.
Butte County reported 46 new cases on Wednesday. 55.4% of the eligible population is fully vaccinated and 62.1% has received at least one dose.
There have been 258 deaths from COVID-19 in Butte County.
There were two COVID-19 deaths reported in Tehama County on Wednesday.
The vaccination status of the people who died is unknown at this time.
