During the stop, the officer also reportedly noted several undisclosed factors that led him to suspect the people inside the car were involved in some sort of criminal activity.
K9 Apis assisted the officer by sniffing out the car. Apis eventually gave a positive alert about smelling drugs, officers said.
A search of the car uncovered a large stash of drugs, about 81 pounds of meth and 11 pounds of fentanyl tablets, according to the CHP.
The two people who were inside the car were arrested on several drug charges. Their names have not been released.
The CHP-Valley Division did not specify exactly where the stop took place in their area. Action News Now is working to learn more.
