8 COVID-19 deaths reported in Shasta County Tuesday, 13 total in local counties

Health officials in Shasta County reported eight new COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday and 91 new cases.

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - Eight COVID-19 deaths were reported and 91 new cases on Tuesday in Shasta County, according to the Shasta County Health and Human Services.

There was one woman in her 50s, a man and a woman in their 60s, two men in their 70s, two men in their 80s and a woman over the age of 89.

There are now 56 people in the hospital in Shasta County and nine are in ICU.

On Monday, SCHHS reported seven COVID-19 deaths and eight people in ICU. There have been 15 COVID-19 deaths reported Monday and Tuesday. 

In Shasta County, there have been 349 COVID-19 deaths and 20,293 cases.

The county has 481 active cases of COVID-19.

Butte County reported three new deaths on Tuesday and 56 new cases. 

Tehama County also reported one new coronavirus death.

In Glenn County, health officials reported the death of a 70-year-old person who was in the hospital with COVID-19.
