CHICO, Calif. - The seventh annual Amber Grove toy drive took place today, Sunday, Dec. 15 at Peterson Park in Chico.
The community came out to donate toys for those in need this holiday season and enjoy vintage fire truck rides, face painting, arts and crafts and pictures with Santa.
The event was organized by a group of neighbors in Amber Grove and the Chico Firefighters Association. Organizers say they are hoping to collect at least 300 toys this year.
Community member Ashley Smith said "its a real feel-good event and its great for our community to come together to help local families in need. this has grown and grown each year and it's nice to see the community support."
All of the toys collected today will be distributed to families in need next Saturday in Chico.
