CHICO, Calif. - Seven vehicles were towed from the Comanche Creek parking lot on Wednesday, Chico Police Department said.

Police said they noticed multiple vehicle code violations in the parking lot, including blocking the roadway in the parking lot.

Police and City of Chico Code Enforcement posted notices on 22 vehicles on Aug. 24 and gave the subjects seven days to move the vehicle and get them in compliance with the DMV since registration was expired by six months.

Seven vehicles were towed for blocking the roadway, expired registration by over six months and parked on the highway lacking safety equipment, the police department said.

Police said this was brought to their attention during two incidents at Comanche Creek.

The first was when Chico Fire Department and Police Department were not able to gain access to a burning vehicle.

The other was a medical call and an ambulance could not get out of the parking lot.
