57-year-old Oroville resident killed by car

One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Oroville on Wednesday evening.

OROVILLE, Calif. - A vehicle struck a 57-year-old pedestrian near Olive Highway and Foothill Blvd. on Wednesday evening, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a witness who was providing medical care to the pedestrian, around 9:45 p.m.

The pedestrian was suffering major injuries from the collision. Oroville Fire and Butte County EMS arrived, they attempted to continue life-saving efforts. However, the pedestrian died from their injuries at Enloe Medical Center, according to police.

The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of family, police said.
