Missing 11-year-old Placerville boy found dead

A boy from Placerville was reported as missing on Saturday. His body was discovered after an extensive multi-agency search.

PLACERVILLE, Calif. – The body of an 11-year-old Placerville boy who was reporting as missing on Saturday was found the same day after an extensive search, said Placerville Police Department officials on Sunday afternoon.

Roman Lopez was last seen at his home Saturday morning in Placerville.

The Placerville Police Department is continuing to investigate the death with the help of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office.

Thankfully, the wind is cooperating much better today in northern California. Our weather is still quite hot for this time of year and very dry. There is plenty of haze and smoke from the Fawn Fire overhead, and it isn't leaving yet.
