PARADISE, Calif. - On Saturday night there was a Truck Parade of lights in which local truckers decorated their vehicles and drove a route through town.
People who came were encouraged to bring canned food to the event to donate to local Paradise food pantries.
The event started at 6 p.m. at the Paradise Community Park where they held a tree lighting ceremony and had a visit from Santa.
The truck parade then began around 6:30 p.m. at the Thomas Ace Hardware at the corner of Pearson Road and Clark Road.
It then continued onto Skyway and turned around at Holiday Shopping Center.
Paradise Chamber of Commerce awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes in two categories: small and large trucks.
The canned food drive will continue until Dec. 20.
Available drop-off locations are Thomas Ace Hardware and Nic’s in Paradise or Smoker’s Paradise 2 in Magalia.
