38th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade in downtown Redding

The 38th annual Lighted Christmas Parade will be held in the downtown area of Redding on Saturday, Dec. 7.

REDDING, Calif. - The 38th annual Lighted Christmas Parade will be held in the downtown area of Redding on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Road closures for the parade are set to begin at 5 p.m., they will reopen at the end of the parade.

Staging areas for the parade floats will include the following streets:

  • Oregon Street. between Yuba Street. and Shasta Street.
  • Butte Street. between Court Street. and Oregon Street.
  • Tehama Street. between Court Street. and California Street.
  • California Street. between Shasta Street. and Tehama Street.

Parade Route: The Parade will begin at California Street and Tehama Street. The parade will travel south on California Street, turn east on Sacramento Street, north on Pine Street and east on Yuba Street. The parade will end at East Street.

Police added, no parking is allowed on the parade route. Vehicles parked in the parade route must be moved before 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. or else they will be towed.

For parade route detours, any motorist traveling into the downtown Redding area will be detoured onto the following:

  • East Street
  • Court Street
  • South Street
  • and Shasta Street

Temporary stop signs will be placed at the intersection of Yuba Street and East Street. Police said this will make the intersection a four-way stop.

For parking, the downtown mall parking structure will have limited parking before barricades are set in place for the parade, at 4:30 p.m. Parked vehicles will not be able to leave until the parade ends.

Parade participants can be picked up in the CalTrans parking lot located at Yuba Street/Liberty Street, police said.
