Gunshots fired in common area of apartments

The Chico Police Department is looking for witnesses who may have seen someone fire a gun outside of a party at a Chico apartment complex

CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Police Department is still looking for information about what happened Saturday morning in Chico at approximately 3:15 a.m. after they received reports that a gun had been fired in the common area of an apartment complex located at 649 W. 2nd Ave.

A party was being held in the apartment complex at the time.

Witnesses told police a fight had occurred in the common area of the complex just before gunshots were heard.

Police officers found evidence that a gun had been fired in the common area of the complex. Though police checked surrounding residences, no bullet strikes or victims were found.

Officers have no information about a possible suspect and have not identified a possible motive.
