LATEST STUDY: Teens, Tech and ADHD

Teens spend an average of nine hours a day looking at screens. Researchers are seeing a connection between frequent gadget use and ADHD.

Anyone with a teenager knows how much time they spend staring at their computer and smartphone. Did you know this obsession with technology could leave teens unable to focus elsewhere?

A new study links frequent gadget use to ADHD symptoms in teens.

Researchers at the University of Southern California tracked nearly 2600 high school students for two years.

They found heavy users of digital media were about twice as likely to develop symptoms of ADHD as their peers, but experts say that does not mean tech use causes attention problems.

The group Common Sense Media has found teens spend an average of nine hours a day looking at screens.
