REDDING, Calif. - As the weather heats up many problems that come with it is the spike in rattlesnakes.

Snake experts say if a snake cannot find cool weather it will die from overheating, that’s why many snakes are found in people’s homes and garages.

Animal experts at Turtle Bay say the Northern Pacific Rattlesnake is the only venomous snake in the North State.

The species is native to the area, so people who live near green belts or wooded areas need to be extra cautious this time of year.
