Two Arrests Made in Connection to Shooting in Anderson

Witnesses told deputies that they saw a man, identified as "Chris" fleeing in a pick-up truck after the shooting.

ANDERSON, Calif.-- Two people have been arrested in connection to a shooting in Anderson.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the 5600 block of Green Acres Drive just after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Responding deputies found a 29 year old man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life threatening.

Witnesses told deputies that they saw a man, identified as "Chris" fleeing in a pick-up truck after the shooting.

A California Highway Patrol Helicopter was able to locate the abandoned Ford F-150 nearby.

Deputies searching the area then found the suspect, identified as 38 year old Christopher Brace, near the abandoned pickup.

Sheriff's officials say Brace was with another woman, 42 year old Jennifer LeCompte.

Brace and LeCompte were both arrested without incident.

Brace was subsequently booked into the Shasta County Jail on chargers of assault with a deadly weapon.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Sergeant Caleb MacGregor at 245-6540.
