New at Chico State we have the first renderings of what the new physical sciences building will look like when it opens in 2020.

College officials say this new building will feature state- of- the- art teaching facilities and equipment, including a hands- on science lab that will make science and technology, or stem opportunities available on the CSU campus for kindergarten through college age students.

Ground will be broken this fall on the 110- thousand square- foot building.

It is expected to cost just a bit more than 100- million dollars.

It'll be located just north of the library replacing Siskiyou Hall, which will be demolished this summer.

The new building was designed by San Francisco architects from Smith- Group-JJR and will be built by DPR construction of Sacramento.
