Halloween Hustle is October 28th in Chico

The 8th annual Halloween Hustle will take place starting at the One-Mile Recreation Area of Chico's Bidwell Park on Sunday, October 28th.

The 8th annual Halloween Hustle will take place starting at the One-Mile Recreation Area of Chico's Bidwell Park on Sunday, October 28th. There is a 5k Run, a 2.5k Run/Walk and a Kid's Dash.  This is a rain or shine event.

It's a benefit for the jesse Kohen Foundation Scholarship that supports CSU, Chico students working with children with disabilities in public schools, as well as the Special Education Programs at Chico and Pleasant Valley High Schools.

Jesse Kohen was a young chico man who's work with people with disabilities was his greatest gift. He was a students at CSU, Chico and died in an unfortunate car crash.

The Halloween Hustle is his family's way of keeping Jesse's dreams alive.   Registration for the event is from 7:30 - 8:15 a.m. the morning of the 28th. Race time is at 8:30 a.m.

There are also plenty of fun activities taking place that day for people of all ages... and while costumes are not a requirement they are definitely encouraged.

The weather will be pulling a 180 as we head into the evening hours and kick off our work week. A north wind will be taking hold, bringing gusty conditions and increased fire danger to the valley, foothills, and the Sierra Mountains. Gusts between 25-35mph are possible from late this evening through Monday night for the valley while the foothills and the Sierra will continue to see the windy conditions through Tuesday morning. This has prompted a Red Flag Warning for the Valley 11pm tonight through 8pm Monday while the Sierra and Foothills will last through Tuesday morning.
