Get ready for another unseasonably warm afternoon across Northern California. Strong winds overnight have even kept some cities downright warm this morning. Redding and Red Bluff both have sustained winds out of the North to 10mph this morning, and have both stayed above 70 degrees overnight. The rest of the valley has managed to dip into the mid 50's to mid 60's early this morning. Mountain areas have dipped into the mid 30's to low 50's. High temperatures are projected to top out in the high 80's to low 90's in the valley, and mountain areas will end up in the low 70's to mid 80's. Most locations will end up 10 to 15 degrees above average. Winds will be up to 15mph out of the North, with gusts to 30mph. Strong winds, above average temperatures, and low humidity will all combine to result in elevated fire danger today.

A similar setup is on tap for Wednesday, but a modest cooling trend will return for the remainder of your extended forecast. Mid to high 80's will return to the valley on Thursday, and temperatures will dip into the high 70's to low 80's by Monday. Dry weather and plenty of sunshine will persist through your upcoming weekend.

It was a bright and breezy Friday for northern California, however the wind has been much stronger over Modoc County where a High Wind Warning is in effect through this evening. Stronger wind and cooler air will define our weather Saturday.
