5 COVID-19 deaths reported in North State Tuesday

Public health officials reported a total of five new COVID-19 deaths in the North State.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - One person between the ages of 35 and 44 died from the coronavirus in Butte County, according to Butte County Public Health (BCPH).

BCPH said the person was not vaccinated and did not have significant underlying health conditions.

There have now been 229 deaths in Butte County from the coronavirus and 125 hospitalized.

Shasta County Health and Human Services (SCHHS) reported three new deaths on Tuesday.

Officials said two men over the age of 89 and a woman in her 50's died from COVID-19.

There were 17 people in ICU on Monday in Shasta County and 851 active cases. There were 78 people in the hospital with COVID-19, according to data sent from SCHHHS.

One death was reported in Trinity County on Tuesday, according to Trinity County Public Health. The person was not vaccinated and was a person in their 80's.
