Vegetation fires fully contained after burning along I-5 in Tehama County

TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - Cal Fire crews have fully contained the vegetation fires that burned on the east side of northbound Interstate 5.

Crews called this the 'Gyle Fire' and say it was reported around 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The fires burned along northbound I-5 between Gyle Road and Flores Avenue, according to Cal Fire.

Two of the fires merged and threatened some structures, officials shared.

The third fire was contained at one acre, according to Cal Fire TGU.

At a final mapping, the fires burned 68 acres. Crews will remain on scene mopping up for several hours.
