3 killed in head-on collision in Oroville

UPDATE: 8:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22 - Larkin Road has been reopened between Mineral Way and Airport Parkway in Oroville.

OROVILLE, Calif. – Larkin Road is closed between Mineral Way and Airport Parkway in Oroville due to a fatal head-on collision, according to Chief of Police, Joe Deal.

Around 2 p.m. Monday, Oroville Police and Fire said they received numerous phone calls about a head-on collision between Mineral way and Airport Parkway.

Three people, all in the same vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Chief Deal. Other people, also involved in the crash were taken to the hospital. Action News Now is working to learn how many were taken to the hospital.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.

Police are asking for motorists to avoid the area due to the road closure that will last for at least another hour.
