OROVILLE, Calif. – Three people killed in a head-on collision Monday afternoon in Oroville have been identified by authorities.
On Feb. 22, 2021, at 2 p.m., Oroville Police & Fire Dispatch received multiple 911 calls regarding a traffic collision that had occurred in the 4000 block of Larkin Rd.
Once on scene, authorities said they determined that there had been a head-on collision involving a 2011 Jeep SUV and a 2011 Toyota Prius.
Police also confirmed three people were killed in the crash. 46-year-old Hugo Guadiana, 64-year-old Frank Medina, and his 9-year-old grandson were pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision, according to police.
There were an additional four individuals, between the two vehicles, that were transported to a local hospital.
Police are still investigating the collision, at this time. Police added, alcohol and or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
