BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Dozens of restaurants are taking part in "Butte County Restaurant Week," coming up on Friday, Jan. 17.

For 10 days, 25 restaurants in Chico, Durham, Gridley, Oroville, and Paradise will offer special meals that are not normally on their menus.

The theme this year is "perfect pairings," where chefs will create food and drinks that pair well together.

The event is all to promote "Visit California's Restaurant Month." In fact, 14 of the 25 restaurants participating are in Downtown Chico.

"Downtown truly is the heart and soul of Chico and we are thrilled that our downtown restaurants will be showcasing their dishes and specials during the event, said Downtown Chico Business Association (DCBA), Executive Director, Melanie Bassett."

Out of the 14 restaurants in Chico, 13 are within walking distance from one another.

"The diversity of downtown's foodie scene will shine during the 10-day event, the Downtown Chico Business Association said. "From traditional English pasties, to fine dining, farm to fork, college favorites or vegan deliciousness; you are sure to delight your palate."

The heat continues to rise around northern California as we progress through the week, and no real relief from this current heat wave is in sight.
