OROVILLE - Two dozen new volunteer firefighters are ready to respond to emergencies in the North State.

They took part in a graduation ceremony at the Open Shaw Public safety training center.

Then they practiced forcible entries, cutting roofs and firefighting.

They’ve been training four and half months.

If you'd like to become a volunteer firefighter, recruiting begins later this year, but you can always fill out a volunteer firefighter form.
