OROVILLE, Calif. - A man was killed in a two-vehicle collision in the area of Highway 70 and Clark Road Friday morning, California Highway Patrol said.
A Chevrolet truck slammed into a Payless Supply vehicle as the Payless vehicle was approaching the light and coming to a stop, CHP said.
CHP said the driver of the pickup truck, a 45-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Payless vehicle was OK.
The crash happened just about 9:30 a.m. and it is unknown if drugs and alcohol were a factor in the crash.
CHP said Highway 70 reopened Thursday afternoon.
Eastbound traffic on Highway 70 is being diverted at Hwy 191 (Clark Road) due to a vehicle collision. Drive carefully in the area.
