YUBA COUNTY, Calif. - Two people on a motorcycle died in a collision Thursday afternoon, California Highway Patrol said.

A man and his passenger were traveling northbound on a Harly Davidson on Plumas Arboga Road south of Forty Mile Road at an unknown speed, the Yuba-Sutter CHP unit said.

Samuel Hubbard, driving a Chevy 2500, was traveling westbound on Forty Mile Road when he came to a stop sign at Forty Mile Road and Plumas Arboga Road.

After looking both ways, Hubbard began to pull into the intersection when he saw the Harley Davidson traveling north on Plumas Arboga Road.

The driver of the Harley Davidson applied the brakes and veered left but was unable to avoid Hubbard’s vehicle, causing the two vehicles to collide.

The Harley Davidson driver and passenger were ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the west shoulder where they died.

CHP said alcohol and drugs are not considered to be a factor in the collision.
