YUBA CITY, Calif. - Two Yuba City men were arrested after assaulting a victim with an axe.
The Sutter County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a physical disturbance in the area of 75 Second Street. Deputies said they located a victim with major injuries, including major head injuries around 10 p.m. on Dec. 10.


Through investigation, authorities said it was determined that two suspects forced entry into the victim's vehicle, pulled the victim out of the car, and physically assaulted the victim with an axe.
Deputies said they will not release the victim's identity, however, he was transported to the hospital and treated for his injuries. The victim is expected to live.
Detectives said they identified the suspects to be 21-year-old Devin Brown and 18-year-old Kenneth Dunkle, both of Yuba City. They were both arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail on Dec. 13. Brown was charged with attempted murder and Dunkle was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
Both men have scheduled court hearings on Dec. 17. Detectives said the crime is still being determined by investigators.
