REDDING, Calif. – A probation search lead to two arrests for drugs and weapons at north Redding motel.
Investigators said the bust occurred Saturday night, when a Redding Police officer said he saw a man recognized as 26-year-old Tyler Stone, of Redding, enter one of the motel rooms. The officer recognized Stone from prior contacts and said he is on searchable Shasta County Probation.
A probation search was conducted at Stone’s motel room. Officers contacted Stone and 27-year-old Asher Mullens, of Redding, inside of the motel room.
Mullens told officers he had a firearm concealed in his waistband. Officers said they retrieved the loaded handgun. During the probation search of the motel room and Stone’s vehicle in the parking lot, officers said they also found the disassembled upper slide of a handgun, two magazines, ammunition, heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and evidence of drug sales.
Redding Police said Mullens was arrested for possession of a loaded, concealed handgun and heroin. Stone was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale.
