Two Chico Businesses Robbed at Gunpoint Within 24 hours

Two Chico businesses were robbed within 24 hours of each other and police are asking the public’s help in searching for the suspects.

CHICO, Calif. - Two Chico businesses were robbed within 24 hours of each other and police are asking the public’s help in searching for the suspects.

According to Chico police, the first robbery happened on New Year’s Eve at 1354 East Ave known as “East Avenue Liquor.”

When officers got the call around 11:43 p.m., they quickly responded to the scene, but the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and he ran away from the scene.

Authorities describe him as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a sweatshirt and a bandana covering his face. The suspect was also armed with a handgun.

Then, on New Year’s Day just after 11 p.m., the “All the Best Video” store on 2422 Cohasset Road was also robbed.

An employee of the video store said the suspect was armed with a gun and took money before fleeing the business, officials said.

The suspect in the “All the Best Video” robbery is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall with an average build, wearing a mask and a dark colored sweatshirt.

Police have not said if these two incidents are connected.
