11.5 Million Ballots Mailed to Registered Voters in California

More than one million Californians already have cast their ballots in the state primary.

CALIFORNIA—More than one million Californians already have cast their ballots in the state primary.

California elections officials mailed more than 11.5 million ballots to registered voters.

As long as the ballot is postmarked by June 5th it can arrive up to three days later and still be counted.

Traditionally only voters who request mail ballots get them.

This year five counties are experimenting by sending mail ballots to all registered voters.

The counties trying it out are Sacramento, Nevada, San Mateo, and Madera.
