10:00 p.m. Update: Redding's very own, Preston Sharp along with his mom sat between First Lady Melania Trump and Second Lady Karen Pence.

During his speech, President Trump told him he's done a job well-done for his work in placing over 40,000 flags at the graves of veterans across the country.

"Young patriots like Preston teach all of us about our civic duty as Americans. I met Preston a little while ago and he is something very special that I can tell you, great future, thank you very much for all you've done Preston," said President Trump.

"It was really great to have preston sharp from redding up in the audience there and get such great recognition for his efforts to honor veterans, as we should all be doing as well as the policy we make to help veterans after they've served for us and give them the help we need," said Congressman Doug LaMalfa.

We did call Preston and his mom but unfortunately they were not able to speak with us tonight. However we do plan on catching up with them once they return to the North State to learn more about his experience.
