Updated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020 - The Shasta County Sheriff-Coroner's Office has released the name of the 24-year-old man who died at the scene of this crash. His name is Damian Nicholas Sallee of Anderson, California.
Sallee's family has been notified and an autopsy has been scheduled. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is still investigating this crash.

ANDERSON, Calif. - One person is dead after an early morning crash east of Anderson Friday.
The CHP said it happened at 3:30 a.m. on Olinda Road near Hammer Lane, east of Anderson.
Investigators said the 24-year-old driver, from Anderson, was driving a Corvette on Olinda Road at a high rate of speed, when he lost control, left the road, and hit a tree.
The car was torn in two and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are still working to determine if alcohol played a role in the crash.
