CALAVERAS COUNTY, Calif. - One person was killed after a plane got caught in power lines and plunged into the water at Lake Tulloch.
Witnesses of the crash said it was a stunt by a pilot that went horribly wrong.
Security footage shows the plane flying low and slow moments before hitting power lines and plunging into Lake Tulloch in the Poker Flats area of Calaveras County.
Witnesses said a wing of the plane appeared to clip a high-tension power wire before it went down.
The Calaveras and Tuolumne County Sheriffs Department said the area where the plane went down is estimated to be at least 150 feet deep
The removal of the plane will require a crane on a barge. Locals said the pilot was putting on a show for friends, who were filming below in a pontoon boat.
The incident is still under investigation.
