REDDING, Calif.- Redding police arrested a man after they said he violently attacked and bit homeowners and an officer.

Wednesday, authorities said Tyrone Hill, 24, of Redding, crashed into two cars and a light pole on Vega Street.

He then got into a fight with a neighbor and chased the neighbor into their home. He kicked the front door in and attacked them, biting them on the face and forearm.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and received medical attention.

Hill received medical clearance at a different hospital.

While handcuffed and restrained, police said he bit an officer in the leg, breaking the skin.

That officer also received medical attention.

Hill informed officers that he was driving under the influence of marijuana when he crashed.

He is now behind bars on charges of mayhem, burglary, assault, assault on a police officer and driving while under the influence.

During the investigation and the booking process, Hill used his brother’s name.

He was later positively identified as Tyrone Hill and a charge of identity theft was added to his booking.
