DONATE: Carr Fire Relief

Various funding websites have been set up to help aid the victims of the Carr Fire. All sites will be updated below.

On Sunday, August 19, STYX's current headlining tour will bring them to the Redding Civic Auditorium in Redding. The band is making a donation of $5,000 to the Shasta Regional Community Foundation via their Rock To The Rescue 501(c)3 organization, which will be matched by the band themselves as well as venue out of new proceeds from the show up to $15,000. There will also be ways for fans to donate at the show. Tickets for the concert are also still available HERE

All physical donations are being managed through a partnership between the Salvation Army and Bethel Church. Salvation Army is located at 2691 Larkspur Lane, Redding, CA.

Hours for drop off: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Only NEW items can be accepted. 

The following items are being requested, no other items are needed at this time:
-Pillows and blankets
-Water and sports drinks
-Any size and gender: T-shirts, socks, and underwear
-Produce: Fruits and vegetables

Red Bluff Vineyard Event 8/9

The Evergreen Union School District and surrounding communities are coming together to stuff a bus with backpacks and school supplied that will benefit the Shasta County Community. They are asking for donations of NEW school items including: Backpacks, lunch pails, pencils, pens, cayons, colored pencils, markers, paper, notebooks, highlighters, erasers, scissors, glue, folders, books, etc. All donations can be dropped off on the following dates, at all of the following locations:

Evergreen Union School District Office (located at 19500 Learning Way, Cottonwood)

- Tuesday, July 31, and Wednesday, August 1, from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

- Thursday, August 2 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

- Friday, August 3 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

Bend Elementary School (located at 22270 Bend Ferry Road, Red Bluff) 

- Thursday, August 2, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

- Friday, August 3, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

Tehama County Department of Education (located at 1135 Lincoln Street, Red Bluff) 

- Thursday, August 2, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

- Friday, August 3 from 9 a.m - 3 p.m. 

Creekside Counseling Center is now accepting donations for victims of the Carr Fire. Donations can be dropped off at 1170 Industrial St., Redding between the hours of 9 -11 a.m. Monday through Friday.

The following FoodMaxxx stores will be collecting monetary donations for the Salvation Army’s relief efforts in the Redding area.
- 2051 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Chico
- 1160 Oroville Dam Boulevard, Oroville
- 95 Belle Mill Landing, Red Bluff
- 1330 Churn Creek Road, Redding

The Paradise Veterans Group are in need of the following items:
Gatorade/Poweraid
Baby supplies, diapers, food and wipes
Prepackaged food
N95 masks
Hygiene items
Underwear, socks
Water
Dry pet food
Pet crates
Laundry detergent
Blankets and towels

A gofundme has been set up for freelance photographer Mike Daly, who has been risking his life to drive through the areas affected by the Carr Fire and show viewers whether houses are left standing or not. He has spent countless hours and money on gas to explore these areas. Read more about his story and donate HERE

A gofundme has been set up for a volunteer firefighter, Justine, who lost her home in the Carr Fire. While down in Orange County testing for a couple of permanent openings, she received a mandatory evacuation notice. She went straight to the station she was asked to report to, not having the opportunity to go home and gather any belongings. Read more about her story and donate HERE

A gofundme has been set up for  Red Blankenheim, a registered nurse, retired paramedic and Old Shasta Fire Chief, who lost everything in the Carr Fire. He has been caring for the sick and injured despite his personal loss and is helping people evacuate. Read more about his story and donate HERE

#FeedTheNeed2018CarrFire is a group created on Facebook. Many local restaurants have teamed together to help everyone that has been displaced by the Carr Fire. Every one of the businesses below will be a donation point where locals can donate anything and everything. See their Facebook link HERE

A family from Eureke, California, is raising money specifically for children victims of the Carr Fire. Check out their story and Facebook page HERE

Vineyard Church in Red Bluff is opening its doors to evacuees of the Carr Fire and are looking for donations. To provide monetary donations, CLICK HERE

Here is a list of all the donation items Vineyard Church is collecting:
- Toiletries
- Diapers and baby wipes
- Food and water
- Gift cards (gas, food and groceries)
- Cots, pillows and bedding

Willows Volunteer Fire Fighter, Danielle Avila, is collecting donations that she can pick up in either Orland or Willows by 12 p.m. on July 29. To reach Danielle you can call (530) 566-7389.

Shasta College in Redding is accepting donations of water bottles and new blankets. If you are able to donate these items, please enter the south entrance on Old Oregon Trail and follow the signs to the drop-off site.

A disturbance moved over northern California and the rest of the Pacific Northwest this afternoon. It brought more gusty wind like yesterday, and cooler air, but only isolated rain showers. It will be much quieter this weekend with a late summer warmup.
