The application period for the Butte Business Stabilization Program is now open.
The program will provide up to $15,000 grants to businesses with five or fewer employees, and up to $25,000 grants to businesses with six to 10 employees.
Almost $5 million are available for the grant program. Over $200,000 has been set aside for Paradise businesses. The Butte Business Stabilization Small Business Grant Program is funded through the CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds to support small businesses impacted by COVID-19.
“The Butte County business community has been hit incredibly hard during this pandemic”, said Butte County Board of Supervisor Chair, Steve Lambert. “Our hope is to ease some of the pain experienced by our small businesses. These businesses are a major part of the engine that drives our economy. We appreciate the sacrifices they are making as a result of COVID-19, and look forward to assisting them with their needs.”
Businesses may apply online at www.buttebusinessresourcehub.org. A link to the Butte Business Stabilization Program may also be found on the County homepage www.buttecounty.net. There is a two-step application process. Businesses submit a pre-application online now through October 5, 2020.
According to county officials, businesses will then be chosen on a lottery basis to participate in the program. Those that are chosen through the lottery will be required to provide additional information and documentation in the second step of the application process.
