BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. – The Salvation Army is challenging the community to do the Santa Shuffle.
This year, the non-profit is hosting a virtual fun run and or walk to support needy families in Chico, Paradise, and the burn scar area this holiday season. The virtual race runs from Saturday, Dec. 12 to Thursday, Dec. 24.
Over a period of 12 days, participants will be able to complete their marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, or 1-mile from anywhere and at any time.
All you have to do is register for the event online through Dec. 24 or in person during the packet pickup times below, take a photo of yourself doing your Santa Shuffle and post to social media using #SantaShuffle.
People can also sign up at the Salvation Army's packet pickup events on Saturday, December 5, Monday, December 7, and Saturday, December 12. Each registered Santa Shuffler will receive a medal, Santa hat, and a commemorative shirt while supplies last.
Packet Pickup Times:
- Saturday, December 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Monday, December 7 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, December 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
