CITY OF SHASTA LAKE, Calif. – Fire investigators in the City of Shasta Lake are looking into the circumstances behind two small fires that were quickly contained late Friday afternoon.

The two fires were reported at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

The location of the fires was between Cascade Boulevard and Interstate 5, not far from the intersection of Grand Coulee Boulevard.

It took the crew of two engines a short time to contain and extinguish the two fires.

The Fire Chief and a Fire Safety Officer are investigating the incident. On Sunday fire officials would not tell Action News Now whether or not it was being investigated as an arson.

The first weekend of autumn was pleasant for northern California, but our relatively tranquil weather will change soon. A Pacific storm is approaching the West Coast, and it will bring our area rain showers and gusty wind soon.
