Avacado Fire in Bangor maps out to 136-acres

UPDATE: 11:30 a.m., July 4 - The fire is 136 acres and 100% contained.

BANGOR, Calif. - Cal Fire says the Avacado Fire is 136 acres and now 100% contained.

The fire is burning in the area of Bangor Park Road and Teddy Lane and was first reported just before 3 p.m. on June 30.

The area is sparsely populated and Cal Fire said crews are cutting down hazardous trees in the area.

Cal Fire is calling this the Avacado Fire, they said because it was first spotted on an Alert Wildfire camera and originally thought it was on Dunstone and Avacado Road.

No structures were destroyed or damaged. The cause is still under investigation.

Winds will diminish through the day on Wednesday, and we'll stay very warm. Dry and warm conditions will persist through this weekend, but wet and cooler weather is projected to return next week.
